ABOUT MECHELSEY SMITH is a New York City-based theatrical Director, make-up artist, and teacher.
She began her theatrical career in the regional theatre scene just outside of Seattle, but moved to NYC to pursue her BA in Directing from Pace University's International Performance Ensemble Program. She directed the premiere productions of Make-Believe & Conversion by Erica Magrin and The Social Drama Play Play by Ivan Roden. She has also worked with several theatre companies including Clubbed Thumb, The Gallery Players, The Rose Grew Here Productions, and Standup Productions. She works as a teaching artist and education onsite manager at TADA! Theater and Dance Alliance. Chelsey has completed numerous masterclasses and workshops at Pace University, The Fifth Avenue Theatre (Seattle), The Sibiu Theatre Festival (Romania), and the Grotowski Institute (Poland). |
